Come join us Friday, October 30th, at noon to learn about internship and career opportunities at E.W. Scripps, the media company that has given its name to our school.
"Give light and the people will find their own way," is a motto for the company and its employees, who believe "in the power of journalism to change lives, strengthen the community and create a better-informed world." That motto is located above the school's entrance in the lobby.
Friday's conversation will include tips for getting internships and your first job despite the backdrop of a pandemic. Scripps Howard Foundation President and CEO Liz Carter and Emerging Talent Leader, Chip Mahaney, will share background about the organization and their career advice.
The broadcasting company was founded in 1878 with a chain of newspapers in Cleveland, Ohio. Today Scripps is the second largest operator of ABC affiliates. It also owns Ion Media, Stitcher, HGTV, Food Network Newsy, an American news network on cable and streaming TV., and others.
