March 15 Deadline: Scholarship for Journalism Students with Broadcasting Interest

Scholarship for Journalism Students with Broadcasting Interest

The Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters Association, comprised of AP member television and radio stations throughout Virginia and West Virginia, is offering two $1500 scholarships this year to students pursuing a degree in broadcast journalism. The students must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at a college or university in Virginia or West Virginia at the time of the application deadline. The VAPB Scholarship Committee will select one student from a West Virginia school and one from a Virginia school among all qualified applications received by the deadline -- Monday, Mar. 15, 2021.

Students are asked to send one email with their application, resume and essay attached to William Oglesby, Chairman of the VAPB Scholarship Committee, at bill@billoglesby.com. (Note: The application must be timestamped by 11:59p.m., Monday, Mar. 15, 2021, or earlier to be considered).

The award is contingent on the recipient being able to attend the Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters Awards Luncheon as our guest.

This year's event begins at 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
